It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Randall Hart, who left us peacefully on Friday, January 3rd 2025, at the age of 68.
Short Biography
Randall Harto Laksono was Born in Surabaya, Indonesia, he was a pioneering figure in fire safety, particularly in developing solutions for electric vehicle (EV) fire hazards.
In 1994, Randall founded PT Hartindo Chemicatama Industri, Indonesia’s first fire extinguisher chemical manufacturing plant and the sole producer in Southeast Asia at that time. His dedication to fire safety led to the creation of Hartindo AF31 Lithium Fire Killer (APAR LFK), the world’s first fire suppressant effective against lithium-based battery fires, addressing the unique challenges posed by EVs.
Randall’s expertise was internationally recognized. As President of M Fire Technology, based in Hamilton, California, he held 21 patents in fire suppression materials. He frequently shared his knowledge globally, including as a speaker at the Indonesian Fire Safety Professionals Society (MPK2I) webinar in June 2023, where he discussed the complexities of extinguishing EV fires.
His contributions significantly advanced fire safety measures in the evolving landscape of electric vehicles, leaving a lasting impact on the industry. Randall Hart’s legacy will continue to influence fire safety protocols and technologies worldwide.
